PROFILE

Ms Lynette P. Holder is the chief executive officer of the Small Business Association of Barbados, a position held since 2007. Being chief executive of this non-profit organization, Ms Holder manages the daily operations of this NGO, which includes planning, organising and implementing a series of strategic programmes for the growth and development of the local micro, small and medium enterprise sector.

This charismatic and pragmatic leader has also been instrumental in the formation of the regional umbrella association for the MSME sector – the Caribbean Association of Small & Medium Enterprises, having been its first Executive Director from 2005 – 2008.

Ms Holder brings a wealth of training and experience to her role as an administrator in the MSME sector having operated a small management and marketing consulting firm since 1993, providing consulting services to public and private sector agencies in Barbados and the OECS Sub-region.

Ms. Holder holds a post-graduate diploma in General Management from the University of the West Indies and a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Surrey, United Kingdom. Ms Holder is currently writing her dissertation – the Impact of Governance on the Integration Project in CARICOM - in completion of a Masters of Science in Integration Studies from the University of West Indies, Cave Hill Campus. Ms Holder is also a member of the Institute of Charter Secretaries and Administrators, Canada.

Ms Holder serves on several Boards and committees in the non-bank financial sector in Barbados. These include, president of the City of Bridgetown Credit Union Ltd., director of the Progressive Cooperative Credit Union Ltd., Chairperson of the Credit Committee of the Barbados Cooperative & Credit Union League Ltd (BCCULL) and Secretary of the Board of Trustees of the Central Fund Facilities Trust of the BCCULL.
